Lifelong Honorary Advisor, China Society for WTO Studies
Prof. Shen Jueren, was born in Zhejiang Province in 1931, and graduated from Nanjing University and Renmin University.
He started to work in the Ministry of Foreign Trade of PRC from 1953, and served successively as the deputy director general, vice director of the political science office, director general of the foreign trade administration, assistant to the Minister, Vice Minister, the director of China –Japan trade and economic relations coordination commissions, director of China-Japan investment promotion commission, director of China association of enterprises with foreign investment, chairman of the board of Huarun Limited Company, Hong Kong, and director of Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association.
Mr. Shen attended the Uruguay round negotiations ministerial meeting as the head of China delegation, and served as the Chief negotiator of the Chinese government’s restore GATT parties negotiations. Mr. Shen also attended the UN conference on trade, the UN industrial development organization, the UN development programme board on behalf of the Chinese government.
At present Mr. Shen served as vice director of China Association for the Promotion of Investment, vice director of Chinese international economic, technology and legal association, the committee member of Sino-Japanese friendly 21st century committee, honorary President of the national institute of Japan, lifelong honorary advisor to the China society for WTO studies.
